MEMBERSHIP

1. How to become a member?

Membership is open to all countries in Africa, organizations working in education sector, educational institutions or schools in Africa. Any country/organization seeking to become a member expresses their interest in a written application on the prescribed form (available on the website) to the Executive Secretary. On acceptance, the member shall pay a registration fee of USD. 500 and an annual subscription fee of USD. 1,500.

2. What are the benefits of being a Member?

Membership Benefits include:

a) Access to regional platforms to share and learn from on-going best practices in mathematics and science / STEM education in Africa

b) Subsidized registration fee to the annual Conferences on Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (COMSTEDA).

c) Access to publications and resources at a subsidized fee.

d) Opportunity to network with other members.

3. Categories of membership to SMASE-Africa

Potential members are invited to join the network as:

a.) Member Country: Directorate of Mathematics and Science / STEM Education, in the Ministry of Education
b.) Member Organizations: STEM-Based Organizations
c.) Associate Member: Individuals that have served as executive committee members, patrons, partners or played significant roles in the life of the organization have an opportunity to join the association as Associate members

4. Partnership opportunities

Potential partners are invited to invest in the following areas:

a.) COMSTEDA annual forums:
b.) Technical Workshop
c.) Collaborative Partnership Projects
d.) In-Kind Partnerships: Mentorship, donation, fundraising, blogs, etc

5. Registered Members

Angola, Botswana, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mali, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone,South Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zanzibar, Zimbabwe, and Mwalimu-Plus.
